Holt Community Centre website
Let us know if you don’t find quickly and easily the information you want. Use our website menu to locate all the information you require. Failing that, please contact us directly. Tel. 01263 713427.
If you have the chance, please come and see us in person. Howard Foale, the Centre’s Administrator, is here all day on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and until 2:00pm on Saturdays. Whether you are looking for a suitable place for a celebration or you’re thinking of joining a club or activity based at the Centre, you’ll receive a warm welcome.
We have a well-equipped kitchen and well-stocked bar and are licensed for up to 200 people. Our dance hall has a stage for live or recorded music. It doubles up as a cinema and theatre for the films and satellite transmissions which are shown on a full-size screen through an HD projector and surround-sound system with hearing loop.
Activities can take place in the hall and lounge together or just one of the rooms, separated from each other by a sound-reducing screen. The lounge has its own projector, screen and sound system for smaller presentations.
The variety of activities testifies to the popularity of the Centre. The calendar shows us as the chosen venue for private parties, business use, the weekly community café, clubs of all kinds as well as events organised by the annual nationally acknowledged Holt Festival.

Holt Community Centre Development
Since 2008 we have been steadily refurbishing and updating the Centre.
We have a new heating system in place, a new sound system and new chairs.
A number of improvements have constituted “Project ACCESS” (Ambitious Community Centre Enhanced Structure Strategy!). Among the larger items now completed have been:
- Internal re-decoration
- Separating the two main halls with a soundproof folding partition
- Modern illumination of emergency exits and the Lounge
- Saving energy with photovoltaics and wall insulation
- Replacing the worn out heaters
- Improving the lighting in the main hall
- A new range cooker and bain marie
- Refurbishing the Toilets
- Rationalising storage
These improvements, costing a total of over £120,000, have relied very heavily on grants, and we are forever grateful to the following bodies for their help:
- Community Sustainable Energy Programme (Lottery)
- North Norfolk Fund (Norfolk Community Foundation)
- Victory Housing (Norfolk Community Foundation)
- Sheringham Shoal Fund (Norfolk Community Foundation)
- Geoffrey Watling Charity
- Naturesave Trust
- Holt WI
- Holt Rotarians
- Holt Town Council
- Holt Area Partnership
- North Norfolk Council’s Big Society Fund
- Norfolk Rural Community Council
- Norfolk County Council
- Norfolk Community Foundation
- Awards for All (Lottery)
And also to the late Mrs Anne Spencer, the late Jeanne Conelley and to the residents of and visitors to Holt who have given generously to our Development fund and attended our special fundraising events.
